One of the monuments located further north in Europe that are conserved the time of the Turkish occupation is the minaret
(
منار
) which was built in the seventeenth century to the Hungarian city of Eger . After the city was reconquered in 1687 by the imperial forces, the people of the city tried to demolish the tower using the force of 400 oxen but poer Fortunately, the minaret resisted. The Kethuda Djama or Camii (Mosque Kethüda) who was at his side was demolished in 1841 and eventually replaced by a Christian esg injury.
The minaret is 40 meters high and its 97 steps leading to the iron balustrade which is a small circular terrace. The stone cone on top of mine is adorned

you (still) am b a crescent moon which, however, he added later a cross. Of the three remaining minarets Hungary (Pécs, ERD, Eger), this is the highest and best preserved. The panorama of the city from atop the tower is unique and should be noted that at the time there were nine Eger Turkish minarets has been more but the only thing that has survived.
